Career Journey

After completing the NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Construction Technology at UCK in 2016, Thusitha joined the Government Engineering Services sector. He quickly rose through the ranks due to his strong technical foundation in civil construction and project management. Serving under the Deputy Chief Secretary of Engineering Services in Badulla, he has been instrumental in overseeing critical infrastructure projects across the region, including road development, building renovation, and water supply systems for rural communities.

Advice to Future Students

Construction Technology is one of the most rewarding career paths you can choose. My advice to new students is to focus deeply on the practical training UCK provides — it truly sets you apart. Don't just study for exams; master the skills on the construction floor. Government service offers incredible stability and the chance to make a real difference in people's lives. Work hard, stay disciplined, and your UCK qualification will open doors you never imagined.
